When you register with the practice for GP Services, your registration is with the practice and not with a specific doctor. You can express a preference for a particular doctor to treat you either generally or for a particular condition. We will endeavour to comply with any reasonable request, but in practical terms any of our doctors can treat you equally well for most conditions, and they will all guide you towards the best treatment available. Please feel free to make a follow up with the doctor of your choice at their next available appointment.

This practice has ZERO TOLERANCE towards either VERBAL or PHYSICAL aggression. Any patient who is seen to be aggressive will be asked to leave the premises and will be permanently removed from the patient list.

Daintree is a mixed billing clinic with both bulk billing and private billing consultations.

Bulk Billed appointments are provided for ALL Concession card holders (Pension concession and Health care cards), DVA patients and Children 16 Years and Under.

Private Billing is applied for all other standard consultations of 15 minutes or long consultations of 30 minutes and will incur a $30 out-of-pocket fee. The full amount is payable on the day (see fees table)  and our friendly reception staff will assist you in claiming back your Medicare rebate.

Workcover, TAC, medical reports, insurance and pre-employment checkups are not covered by Medicare and will incur a private fee. Fees will advised at time of booking.

All out of pocket fees will advised at time of booking.

Appointments with Allied Health providers are not always covered by Medicare. Please check with Administration staff for further information.

The practice runs on booked appointments. Please be aware that appointment timings vary. Please be conscious of the doctor’s and other patient’s time and make appropriately timed appointments. If you wish to discuss more than 1-2 issues with your doctor, please book a longer appointment. The GP’s make a conscious effort to run on time but in the event of emergencies, the reception staff will endeavour to inform you the approximate waiting time frame. Please bear in mind this is an approximate estimation of time only.

If you wish to have Pap Smears or Immunisations, please be aware this requires to be notified in advance so you can be booked in with the relevant health professional in the clinic with appropriate consulting time.

We are pleased to hear from you at least 3 hours before your appointment, but not 10 minutes after you have missed your appointment! The clinician’s time is wasted every week because of simple failures to attend. Please cancel any unneeded consultations as soon as you know you must – others are desperate for the doctor’s time.

For the benefit of all, it is practice policy that, if you fail to attend an appointment, and neglect to call practice advising of cancellation or rescheduling, there will be a fee of $30 to $90 per missed appointment depending on the clinician you were booked to see. If you miss 3 appointments in the space of a year, if you fail to attend for longer appointments amounting to 30 minutes in a year, or if you fail to attend any appointment soon after joining us, we will contact you to advise you of this and how this breaks down the special relationship you need to have with your doctor.

Practice policy is also that further failures to attend are monitored, and will mostly result in patients being invited to seek GP services elsewhere. We stand by our efforts to deal with this major problem in the interests of the vast majority of our patients.

We do not give results over the phone due to patient confidentiality.
If you wish to discuss results with your GP, please feel free to book an
appointment. If your results have been marked for discussion, you will
be notified accordingly by the staff and arrangements made to have an
appointment. All urgent results marked for follow up will be dealt with

Appointments are required for script renewals and are available as Private Billing. This will incur a reduced out-of-pocket fee of $10. The full amount is payable on the day and our friendly reception staff will assist you in claiming back your full Medicare rebate immediately.

If a patient is unable to attend an appointment for a script, please contact the clinic to request a script.

If eligible, a script repeat will be provided and available for collection from Reception in 48 hours.
